Discover Culture. Protect Nature. Empower the Next Generation.

Welcome to Nyungwe Heritage Academy, a community initiative by Nyungwe Special Bookings that celebrates Rwandan cultural heritage, develops young people's talents, and promotes environmental awareness around Nyungwe Forest.

Our journey began in 2019 with Nyungwe Cultural School. In 2024, the initiative developed into Nyungwe Heritage Academy, expanding its vision to include cultural education, conservation awareness, and greater opportunities for young people.

Today, the Academy brings together 146 students aged 3–20 from communities around Nyungwe, helping them celebrate their heritage, develop their abilities, and explore opportunities for the future.

Meet Our Students. Experience Their Culture.

Discover the talents of our students through traditional Rwandan dance, music, drumming, storytelling, and other cultural activities.

During your visit, students will welcome you with vibrant cultural performances, sharing the traditions, creativity, and hospitality of their communities.

Meet the young performers, learn about their heritage, and enjoy a meaningful cultural exchange.

Where Culture Meets Conservation

Empowering Communities. Protecting Nyungwe's Future.

Nyungwe Forest is one of Rwanda's remarkable natural treasures. Its conservation story is closely connected to the communities whose heritage, knowledge, and lives are linked to the surrounding landscape.

Nyungwe Heritage Academy encourages young people to appreciate their cultural identity while developing an understanding of biodiversity, environmental responsibility, and sustainable tourism.

Our vision is to help students build skills and confidence to pursue opportunities in cultural preservation, tourism, hospitality, education, and conservation.

Protecting Nyungwe's future means valuing both its natural environment and the people connected to it.

Help Students Learn, Grow, and Thrive

We aim to develop the Academy into a community learning center where cultural heritage, practical skills, environmental awareness, and educational opportunities come together.

Your visit, contribution, or partnership can help us respond to students' needs, including:

Learning materials: Educational supplies and learning resources.

Cultural activities: Traditional costumes, musical instruments, and performance materials.

Educational exchanges: Opportunities to travel within Rwanda and learn from other communities.

Skills development: Training in tourism, hospitality, languages, arts, crafts, and conservation.

Student celebrations: Activities that bring students together and recognize their achievements.

Learning facilities: Equipment and resources to improve the learning environment.

We welcome responsible visitors, educational supplies, financial contributions, and partnerships that support the Academy's priorities.
